Her principal roles include Madama Butterfly (Puccini), Donna Anna (Mozart), Fiordiligi (Mozart), Leonora (Verdi), Amelia (Verdi) and Donna Elizabetta (Verdi). Her album "Nocturne", hailed by critics as ‘enticing’ and ‘magical’ was released in 2000 and is a tribute to American composer, Samuel Barber.
Stephanie became a guest artist with the English National Opera in 2000, covering such roles as Mimi (Puccini), Madama Butterfly (Puccini), and Amelia (Verdi) among others. Upon her return to Canada she has been presented in numerous concerts in Québec and Ontario notably in the title role of Opera in Concert’s 2005 production of Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda. Stephanie’s compact disk, Im Abendrot, which includes ‘Die vier letzte Lieder’ of Richard Strauss was recorded in recital at Bandeen Hall in Sherbrooke, Québec. She has collaborated with Canadian composer, Donald Patriquin, who wrote the brilliant ‘Magnificat for Turning’ for her.
During the course of her career, Stephanie has had the opportunity of working closely with several renowned conductors including Maestro Georg Tintner, Alexander Ingram, Edward Gardner (ENO), Lorenzo Palomo (Berlin), and Claude Villaret (Switzerland). Stephanie has also had the privilege of refining her artistry with several notable pedagogues, Janice Chapman in England and Dixie Ross Neill and Stuart Hamilton in Toronto. The brilliant vocal technician and pedagogue, Carol Baggot Forte has been her principal teacher.
Stephanie is a guest artist with numerous orchestras, including, L'Orchestre Symphonique de Gatineau, Ottawa River Valley Festival Orchestra, Counterpoint Orchestra (Toronto) and has been prinicpal soloist in major symphonic works such as the Mozart Requiem, the Coronation Mass, the Bach Mass in B mineur, The Four Last Songs of R. Strauss, the Brahms Requiem and the Verdi Requiem.
Stephanie Piercey Beames is a Professional Opera Singer and a voice teacher with her own private studio, 'La voix libre'. She has also taught at Musique Adagio and l'École de Musique de l'Outaouais Inc, both in Gatineau, Québec. Her career spans over three decades and her voice has graced many of the biggest stages in Europe.
